The Golden Compass Movie
This movie was a pretty good movie. As a movie. If you ignore the book it was based on completely.
They completely tore all of the intrigue and mystery that was in the book out of the movie. In the first five minutes. Yes, they started it with an opening monologue that was Lord of the Rings ripoff-y which revealed more than you would find out after reading half the book. The movie then jumps into nonstop action mode, where there is no pause to let you think about what just happened in the story and what the repercussions may have been. Read more

The greatest thing about Marvel is the fact that they can actually make me hate their characters. Not hate them for that fact that they’re shitty, but that their actions within the comic universe makes me hate them. Even movies have a hard time doing this but along comes Tony Stark a.k.a Iron Man and BAM! I hate him…

Dear Sirs,
Whilst I am not a regular user of Gamespot (and a former regular of Gamefaqs), I am shocked and appauled at the sudden firing of a veteran editor, and like much of the rabid shambling mass of gamers out there on the internet calling for blood, I wish to have my opinion on this subject heard.
